YouTube Channel!

Hey everyone!

I know I’ve been away for a while and I apologize for it. The reason that I haven’t been posting any new Topbox reviews is because I had to cancel my subscription for a little while, but hopefully I will be able to renew it soon.

Also, an exciting announcement!

I made a YouTube channel! I am super excited about it and I really want it to flourish. I am planning on doing makeup tutorials and reviews, so be sure to stay in tuned. Right now I am posting every Thursday, but the schedule might change when I get the hang of things.

I hope you really enjoy my blog and now my new YouTube channel! I love you all!

TOPBOX Review January 2017

Topbox is a $12 personalized monthly subscription box that is based in Canada. They include all things beauty. You can subscribe to receive your own beauty box at

Here are the items I received and some pros and cons for each of them:

MaskerAide: Spotted! Anti-Blemish Clear Spot Patches (8 sheets $25)

Sample Size: 2 sheets $6.25

Pros:These acne spot treatments helped with reducing the redness of my pimples and it pulled up some of the dirt and oil that was trapped inside. I really like this product and having been using it while I sleep. I will definitely repurchase this product.

Cons: They are completely clear which makes it a bit easier to miss one when removing, so I would advise to take one last look before going on with your day.

Available at

Seche Vite: Dry Fast Top Coat (14 mL $9.95)

Sample Size: 3.6 mL $2.94

Pros: This top coat applied to my nail very easily and left a smooth finish. It also  wasn’t sticky like most top coats are.

Cons: This top coat smelled heavily like spray paint and did not have a normal nail polish smell at all. It also did not protect my nails from chipping for very long. Within 3 days almost all of my nails had a chip in the polish. This polish did dry quickly compared to other top coats I have used, but it still took about 30 minutes to dry and that is not “quick dry” to me.

Available at professional nail salons.

Voesh New York: Voesh Pedi Mud Masque in Olive Sensation (3.5 x 5.5 $7.99)

Pros:This mud mask has a very refreshing smell which includes a very citrus smell. I included before and after pictures and you can tell that it did slightly remove some dead skin and it loosened up the remaining skin. This product also made my feet feel really soft.

Cons: This product is very awkward to use if you are by yourself. I would suggest sitting near a bathtub or have your rinse water ready. I think to see a noticeable difference, I would have to continue to use this mud mask.

Available at

Bella Aura Skincare: Gentle Purifying Cleanser (100mL  $45)

Sample Size: 10 mL $4.50

Pros:  This cleanser made my face feel clean and refreshed. I used it in the morning before any of my other makeup applications.

Cons: This face cleaner has a very strong ointment smell. It is also a really thin and runny formula which makes it a bit difficult to apply.

The total retail price for the products in this month’s box is about $21.68

Topbox Review December 2016

Topbox is a $12 personalized monthly subscription box that is based in Canada. They include all things beauty. You can subscribe to receive your own beauty box at

Here are the items I received and some pros and cons for each of them:

Bella Aura Skincare: Instant Lifting Eye Contour (30 mL $125)

Sample size: 10 mL $42.67

Pros:  Using this eye contour did make the skin around my eyes feel tighter. It did give a slight lifting effect.

Cons: The price of this product is insane and I didn’t think it made enough of a difference to pay that much. I do not think this product is worth the price, but I also didn’t use it continuously.

Available at

Cake Beauty: Heavy Cream Intensive Hand Repair (3.4 oz $22)

Sample size: 1 oz $6.47

Pros: This lotion has a slight coconut smell, which is very pleasant.

Cons:Like I have previously stated in my reviews, I don’t like receiving lotion because I already own too many different kinds. This lotion is very thick, just as advertised. I don’t have dry skin, so it just felt like it wouldn’t soak into my skin.

Available at

Laritzy Cosmetics: Pro Blender (1 blender $16.29)

Full size

Pros:I like the shape of this blender because it makes it easier to grip and control. I think including this in the box was a really great idea and I would love more things like this. It applied my concealer perfectly and didn’t leave any streaks or creases.

Cons:I don’t have anything bad to say about this product, except it had a bit of a plastic smell when I first opened it, but it quickly disappeared.

Available at

Fusion Beauty: StimuLashFusion Brow Duo (2 x 0.1 fl oz $53.64)

Sample size: 0.017 oz $4.56

Pros: This grooming gel does exactly what it says it will do. It kept my brow hairs in line and kept them from spreading out on their own.

Cons: I found that this brow gel made my eyebrows look a bit greasy. I try to keep as much attention from my brows as possible and I felt like this attracted attention to them.

Sample Size:  4 mL $10.23

Sample size: 30 mL $4.35

Elizabeth Arden: Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant (50 mL $21)

Sample size: 5 mL $2.10

Pros:This product is not very oily and it soaks into the skin quickly. I used it on my cuticles and it softened them up nicely to do a manicure.

Cons: This cream smells slightly like medical ointment, which I didn’t really enjoy.

Available at Shoppers Drug Mart, Murale, and Rexall.

China Glaze: Nail Lacquer (14 mL $10)

Full size

Pros:My favourite thing about this nail polish is that it only needed one coat to be opaque. It also dried fairly quickly and it includes a hardener, which is something that I need for my nails.

Cons: The colour of this nail polish is not one that I would choose. It comes of as a dull gray with a purple hue. It also doesn’t last very long, the nail polish was chipping within a couple of days of wear.

Available at professional nail salons.

The total retail price for the products in this month’s box is about $26.68

Dr. G: Brightening Peeling Gel (120g $28)

Sample Size: 10g $2.33

Pros: It left my skin feeling really smooth and clean.

Cons: It has a very minty smell, which smells kind of like ointment or medicine. When rubbing the product in, it balls up right away and I’m just not sure if it’s the product or my dead skin.

Full Size: $10

Pros: This lip shimmer has a very lemony smell, which I like. it does not have any noticeable colour to it, but it does leave a slight shimmer. It left my lips feeling soft.

Jor’el Parker: Fango Mud Therapy (7 oz $35.56)

Sample Size: $5.08

Pros:  This mud mask has a very exotic fruit smell. It is also 100% vegan. it completely cleared out my pores and made my face feel really smooth.

Cons: I do not have sensitive skin, but when I washed this mask off my face was very red and it felt like I had been sunburnt. This has never happened to me while using a mask before, so I don’t recommend this to anyone with sensitive skin.

Unilever Box September 2016

This month Topbox sent a comlimentary Unilever box along with their monthly subscribtion box. There was no information card because it was free of charge, so I used different websites to get a rough estimate of what each of these items are worth.

Pros: This body wash did leave my skin feeling soft. It has a very typical soap smell.

Cons: After getting out of the shower, my skin felt like it had a layer of soap stuck to it. I wouldn’t purchase this body wash again.

Degree: Fresh Energy Dry Spray (107g $4.97)

Full Size

Pros: This deoderant has a nice citrus smell. It lasted the whole time that I was sweating and kept my armpits smelling fresh. It also does not leave any white residue on my shirts.

Cons: It did not last very long. I had to reapply it 3 times during the day and it definitely would not last 48 hours like the bottle states. It also has a very wide spraying range, which wastes a lot of product that just blows into the air.

Nexxus: Therappe Shampoo (89mL $3.96) and Nexxus: Humectress Conditioner (89mL $4.99)

Full Travel Size

Pros: I absolutely love this shampoo and conditioner. They leave y hair really soft and silky. They also have a pleasent smell to them. Throughout the day my hair maintains its softness.

Cons: The bottles were only about half full and I wish there would have been more included in these sample bottles. I also wish that they were all natural because as I stated in a previous post, I am trying to introduce my hair to only natural products.

Nexxus: Comb Through Finishing Mist Hairspray (10 oz $13.99)

Sample Size: 42.4g $2.10

Pros: It has a really nice fruity smell, which is nice change from the typical hair spray smells. It is really light and perfect for a quick spray before heading out the door.

Cons: It doesn’t have a very strong hold, so it wouldn’t be very good to use on a hairstyle that you would want to stay all day or is dependent on hairspray.

Pros: This is a hairspray that I have used before receiving it in this box. It has a very strong hold and I can trust it with even the most complicated of hairstyles.
